The rustic and elegant vibes mixed with fresh farm florals will ALWAYS be one of my favorite themes, and I’m so ecstatic I was able to be a part of this one! Keep reading to learn more about Caitlin + Nick’s autumnal wedding day!

Caitlin + Nick’s wedding took place on a cool September day in 2021 at Black River Barn in South Haven. The leaves hadn’t quite started to change color yet but you could smell fall in the air. Their florals from Viavi Flower Farm brought a touch of fall color to the room and set the tone for the evening.

Black River Barn is the perfect spot to hold a wedding for many reasons. To start, they have a gorgeous and spacious bridal suite upstairs that gives off all of the bride vibes! There is a long counter with mirrors and chairs for hair and makeup, a huge couch for lounging, double doors and a patio to get some fresh air and a bathroom attached to the room. This is the perfect spot to get ready with your girls the morning of your wedding! They even have a closed off section with a curtain for the bride to get dressed and do a grand reveal with her bridesmaids! They really thought of it all! And don’t worry, they have the guys covered too! There is a room downstairs that also has outdoor access and a pool table to keep the guys entertained during the long day. When it comes to the actual event, they have a perfect space to hold the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. We love when a venue is able to accommodate all of our clients needs in one location!

Their bridal party matched seamlessly with their wedding design. The girls wore burnt orange chiffon dresses in all different styles to add dimension to their photos and to allow the girls to wear what they are comfortable in. The guys wore classy navy suits and neutral colored ties. This tied in really well with their color palette that consisted of pinks, deep purples and simple dried elements to play off of the fall season that was upon us.

Caitlin + Nick’s son, Collin, was the life of the party and the star of the show! He was carried down the aisle with his mom, Caitlin, during the processional. It took a moment that already brings tears to your eyes and made it that much more special! Oh, and when it came to dancing – he was right there with mom and dad on the dance floor. He brought so much fun and life to their celebration. It was so fun to watch Caitlin and Nick include their son and love him so well on their special day. Since then, they have welcomed another sweet little guy into their family! We love watching our clients grow deeper in love and grow their family over the years after their wedding.

Kind words from the bride….

From the start of wedding planning, I knew that I wanted to do the bulk of the work. However, when it came to the day of, I wanted to be sure that I, along with my mom and maid(s) of honor could relax and enjoy ourselves without having to worry about the details. I luckily found Emily through a lot of instagram stalking! From the start her website was very easy to navigate and told you exactly what is in her packages. I saw that she had what was called her “final details” package and I was SOLD! It was exactly what I was looking for!

Someone who was there the entire day of the wedding and our rehearsal. We even met twice prior to and she was available always for any questions that I had! The last time we met prior to our wedding, she presented this beautiful excel sheet that laid our our day hour by hour (down to the 15/30 min mark). I thought I had the day somewhat figured out in my head, but she was on top of it all with when the vendors were arriving, to when I was putting my shoes on. It was hands down amazing and took a huge weight off of my shoulders knowing that our day was in Emily’s hands. The night of the rehearsal Emily had these awesome QR codes for our bridal party to scan, so that they were aware of the timeline and knew when to be where and exactly what was going on. The day of… Emily and her assistant DELIVERED!

If you’re thinking of getting a planner…do it and book Emily. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and went so smoothly. She assured that everything was set up the way I had envisioned, helped pass out programs, assured everyone was dressed/ready to go, made sure we lined up on time, helped with the take down of all the decor, and I know that there was so much more she helped with that I am forgetting. My point is she was such a HUGE help the day of.
